PALO ALTO, California — American chip giant Intel’s new CEO said the company is still committed to building a foundry business despite recent setbacks and is on track to begin mass production using its propriet 1.8-nanometer chipmaking technology in the second half of the year.
“Our ambition is ultimately to create the best products and become the best foundry over the years,” Lip-Bu Tan said in a keynote speech at Intel Vision on Monday afternoon.
