NAGOYA, Japan — Toyota Motor’s North American subsidi has informed local auto parts makers that it plans to help with rising costs associated with tariffs announced by the Trump administration, Nikkei has learned.
The U.S. imposed an additional 25% tariff on all imported vehicles Thursday. This will be extended to major components, such as engines and transmissions, by May 3.
