NEW YORK — U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday told the country’s powerful foreign investment screening body to review Nippon Steel’s bid for U.S. Steel, after his predecessor blocked the acquisition on national security grounds earlier this year.
The review will be conducted anew, and the committee will submit recommendations within 45 days on whether the companies have taken sufficient steps to mitigate national security concerns.
