Global Celebrity League Officially Launched

Dubai sparkled with star power as the Global Celebrity Cricket League was officially launched.

According to Al-Mudassar News Agency Dubai-UAE, a new era of cricket entertainment has officially begun with the spectacular launch of the Global Celebrity League (GCL) in Dubai.

The glittering event brought together cricket legends and top-tier celebrities from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Qatar in a celebration that blended sportsmanship, glamour, and heartfelt tributes.

The evening commenced with a solemn moment of silence in honor of the late founding chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Saud Abdullah Al Thani, whose vision leadership laid the foundation of GCL. Hosted by the ever-energetic Shifali Bagga, the ceremony dazzled with energy and star power.

The much-awaited jersey and logo reveals of the five official teams—Pakistan Firefox, Indian Thunders, Afghan Warriors, Bengal Tigers, and Qatar Global—sent waves of excitement across the hall, igniting anticipation for the league’s thrilling upcoming matches.

In a historic moment, the official team signings took place on stage. Pakistan Firefox, owned by Mr. Waqas Alvi, was represented by cricket icons Imran Nazir, Wahab Riaz, and Shahid Afridi. On the other side, Indian Thunders’ owner Mr. Sumit Rajpal was represented by former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, alongside Bollywood celebrities Neha Sharma, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan, energizing the event with their presence.

GCL President Arif Malik delivered a compelling keynote, officially announcing the league dates: May 27th to June 4th, 2025, with all matches hosted at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The league’s grand opening match will be the epic India vs. Pakistan clash, set to ignite passion and rivalries.
