PM claims Balochistan’s progress is important for Pakistan’s development
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday emphasized Balochistan’s critical role in Pakistan’s progress and vowed to continue the government’s development efforts in the province with unwavering commitment.
PM Shehbaz met a delegation of Balochistan lawyers and discussed the region’s law and order situation. Federal ministers and bar association representatives also attended the meeting, where they focused on Balochistan’s ongoing challenges.
The participants discussed the current law and order and security situation in Balochistan during the meeting. “The talented human resource of Balochistan is a valuable asset for Pakistan,” the prime minister added.
The delegation urged the prime minister to ensure the federal government plays an effective role in improving Balochistan’s law and order situation.
In this context, the delegation emphasized the critical role of legal actions and consultations with the province’s political and tribal leadership. They also informed the prime minister that they had met with other political leaders and stakeholders to discuss the issue.
The presidents of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Balochistan High Court Bar Association briefed the prime minister on governance issues in Balochistan and requested his leadership and guidance to resolve the related challenges.
The delegation appreciated the prime minister for prioritizing Balochistan’s development and acknowledged the federal government’s efforts to improve the welfare of the province’s people.
They also praised the Danish Schools initiative for providing quality education to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and requested the government to establish similar schools in Khanzi and Mangochar (Kalat).
Furthermore, the delegation lauded the hundreds of scholarships previously awarded to Balochistan students for higher education and urged the government to revive the program. In response, the prime minister immediately directed the relevant authorities to take action on these matters.
