TOKYO – Uniqlo owner and CEO Tadashi Yanai has called the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump “irrational,” and said they “won’t last,” as the company revised its earnings outlook for the second half of the fiscal year because of possible impacts.
“A tariff system that only prioritizes one’s own country is not acceptable,” Yanai said at a press conference on Thursday. “It will lead to the U.S. being isolated.”
