NEW DELHI — India is seeking to streamline its defense procurement by expediting the acquisition process to upgrade its milit equipment in a timely manner amid technological advancement and an accelerating regional arms race.
India’s Defence Acquisition Council last month approved guidelines to make the arms and equipment acquisition process “faster, more effective and efficient,” according to an official statement. The move is part of marking 2025 as the “year of reforms” in the defense sector, the document said without elaborating.
