SENDAI, Japan — Japanese consumer goods manufacturer Iris Ohyama will spend $13 million to expand American production under plans announced Monday, responding to the Trump administration’s tariffs on products from China.

A new line for pet training pads will begin operating in December at a plant in the state of Pennsylvania. At a plant in the state of Wisconsin, new equipment will be installed for surgical masks and start up in June.
