TAIPEI/MANILA — The Philippines has eased restrictions on visits to Taiwan and engagement with its officials, paving the way for closer ties as both sides face intensifying milit pressure from China.
An order signed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., which was made public on Monday, relaxes a longstanding prohibition against Philippine government officials going to Taiwan in order to maximize opportunities for foreign investments.
