SEOUL — Hyundai Motor’s operating profit rose 2.1% to 3.6 trillion won ($2.5 billion) in the first quarter from a year ago, although U.S. President Donald Trump sweeping global trade tariffs threaten to overshadow its earnings in the second quarter.
South Korea’s largest automaker announced on Thursday that its revenue jumped 9.2% to 44.4 trillion won for the Janu to March period year-on-year, with its net profit inching up 0.2% to 3.4 trillion won.
