KARACHI: Narendra Modi-led Indian government blocked access to Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on X (formerly Twitter).

The blocking of Pakistani social media channel in India continued and now the account of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has also been blocked.

The visitors to Bilawal’s profile are now met with a terse message: “@BBhuttoZardari has been withheld in IN in response to a legal demand”.

The link that follows leads to a platform-generated notice devoid of specifics.

A few days ago in response to India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave a strong message to the Indian government,  accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “attacking the Indus River” by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, warning such acts would provoke strong resistance from Pakistan.

“The butcher of Gujarat has tried to choke the Indus River. We will not allow it,” said Bilawal. “Either water will flow, or their blood will.”

Earlier, India had blocked the social media accounts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

India continues to draw the digital shutters on prominent Pakistani social media accounts in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam incident, the Indian government also blocked access to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) founder on X (formerly Twitter).
