Saudi Minister arrives in Islamabad amid rising Pak-India tensions
Adel Al Jubeir, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, arrived in Islamabad as tensions between Pakistan and India escalated following India’s misadventure, which resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of innocent children.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al Jubeir at Pakistan’s Foreign Office. After visiting India, Al Jubeir will engage in high-level meetings with Pakistani officials.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar and Adel Al Jubeir exchanged views on the evolving regional situation. The Deputy Prime Minister praised the Kingdom’s constructive diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region.
The two sides also discussed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthen the time-tested and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Japanese FM calls DPM Dar:
Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, during which they discussed the escalating regional tensions.
According to the Foreign Office, the Deputy Prime Minister briefed his Japanese counterpart on India’s recent misadventures, which led to the deaths of innocent Pakistani civilians, including women and children.
Ishaq Dar stated that despite India’s violations of international law, Pakistan has shown restraint. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding regional security and sovereignty. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s determination to protect its people and territory amid the ongoing conflict.
The Japanese Foreign Minister expressed deep concern over the deteriorating regional situation and offered condolences for the loss of civilian lives. He urged both Pakistan and India to exercise restraint, prioritize dialogue, and use diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and seek a peaceful resolution.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that the Pakistan armed forces are fully prepared to handle the situation arising from India’s aggression.
Speaking in the National Assembly today, he stated that our forces are bravely fighting enemy forces along the Line of Control and the working bound.
He stated that Pakistan successfully thwarted India’s designs, which demoralized their people, media, and political parties. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif emphasized that the morale of Pakistan’s people, armed forces, political parties, and other segments of society remains high.
Mentioning the shooting down of five Indian fighter jets and drones, Khawaja Asif expressed pride in the armed forces, emphasizing that the entire nation stands united with them.
