Nissan to cut 20,000 jobs, more than double from initial plan

TOKYO — Nissan Motor will cut its workforce by around 20,000 employees in Japan and overseas, adding more than 10,000 eliminated positions to the 9,000 job cuts it had announced previously, Nikkei has learned.

The headcount reduction is equivalent to roughly 15% of Nissan’s global workforce of 130,000 employees.
