The deadline to apply for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme (PMLS) Phase-IV is quickly approaching, with May 20 set as the last day to submit applications. Thousands of students have already applied, and the scheme’s official portal has seen a significant increase in activity recently.

This major government initiative plans to distribute 100,000 laptops to top-performing students in public sector universities across Pakistan. The goal is to support education, reduce the digital gap, and provide students with the tools they need for both academic success and career development.

Who Can Apply?

To apply, students must be studying in a recognized public sector university and enrolled in a PhD, MS/MPhil, Master’s, or Bachelor’s program. They should have at least a 2.80 CGPA or 60% marks. First-year undergraduate students need to submit their HSSC marks, and first-semester MS or PhD students must provide the results of their previous degree.

The scheme also includes a quota system to ensure equitable access:

18% reserved for students from Balochistan

5% for distance learning students, split equally between Virtual University and Allama Iqbal Open University

Graduated students are not eligible, even if they were enrolled at the time of application.

How to Apply?

Students can apply through the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub (DYH) App or by visiting the official website at www.pmyp.gov.pk. The platform is active, and students are advised to submit their applications well before the deadline.

Once applications close, a provisional merit list will be shared. Students will then have 15 days to raise any objections or submit complaints. After addressing all concerns, the final merit list will be announced.

Laptops will be given strictly on merit within each department and program to ensure fairness and transparency.

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme remains an important step toward building Pakistan’s future by promoting digital skills, innovation, and education. With only a few days left, eligible students are encouraged to apply without delay.
