ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the first heatwave alert of the year and temperatures across most parts of the country are expected to remain significantly above normal.

The daytime temperatures in plains across the country are likely to be extremely hot and dry today.

In southern Punjab and Balochistan, daytime temperatures are expected to be 4 to 6°C above normal, while in central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, temperatures are projected to rise 5 to 7°C above the seasonal average.

The authorities have advised the public to take necess precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak afternoon hours.

While In Islamabad and his near areas are also expected to experience severely hot and dry weather.

Same as well the weather is also hot and dry in many zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the southern and central districts are also remaining extremely hot during the daytime.

The weather is also hot and dry in many region of Punjab while strong winds are expected in the southern districts of Punjab today.
