PM Shahbaz’s speech on Yom-e-Tashukar: “We turned cowardly aggression into a historic victory
Islamabad: Pakistan observed Yom-e-Tashakur (Day of Thanksgiving) with a powerful and emotional ceremony in Islamabad to mark its historic victory in the Battle of Haq and Operation Bunyan Marsus. The main event took place at the Pakistan Monument, where Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressed the nation and praised the armed forces for their extraordin courage and precision.
He revealed that Pakistan Air Force Shaheens shot down six enemy aircraft during the operation — a move that stunned the world and left the enemy scrambling for cover. The Prime Minister described the enemy’s aggression as cowardly and condemned the targeting of innocent civilians. In contrast, Pakistan’s response was strategic, disciplined, and driven by the desire for peace.
He thanked several nations — including Saudi Arabia, China, Turkey, Qatar, Dubai, and especially the United States — for standing by Pakistan in difficult times. Shahbaz Sharif highlighted former U.S. President Donald Trump’s role in restoring peace, noting that it was only after facing defeat that the enemy requested a ceasefire.
Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force stood beside the Prime Minister as a guard of honor was presented. The ceremony included recitation of the Holy Quran, the national anthem, Fateha for martyrs, and a spectacular aerial salute by the Pakistan Air Force.
National songs echoed across the venue as citizens remembered the sacrifices made and the unity that led to victory. The day stood as a reminder of Pakistan’s strength, resilience, and commitment to peace.
