Weather update: Rain, strong winds likely in parts of KP, Punjab
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast rain accompanied by strong winds in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, while warning of continued hot and dry conditions in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan.
According to the Met Office, Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to remain partly cloudy, with a chance of rain and gusty winds in some places.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while most districts are expected to remain hot and dry, scattered showers with strong winds have been forecast for upper regions including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan and Battagram. Rain is also expected in Peshawar, Swabi, Mansehra and Abbottabad.
The weather forecast says that several districts including Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu, Kohat, Karak, and Dera Ismail Khan are expected to see similar weather conditions.
In northern Punjab, areas like Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum will likely get rain and strong winds. Rain is also expected in cities like Lahore, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal. Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Jhang, and Bhakkar may also receive rain and wind, which could give people a short break from the ongoing heat in central Punjab.
In Sindh, the weather will stay very hot and dry, especially in central and upper areas. Dusty winds are expected in the afternoon in many places, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana.
Balochistan will have similar hot and dry conditions in most districts.
The weather department has advised people to be careful, especially in areas where strong winds and dust storms are expected. Farmers and travelers should stay alert due to these changing weather patterns.
