KARACHI: Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) predicted that Eid-ul-Azha will be observed across Pakistan on June 7, 2025.
This forecast is based on astronomical calculations related to the sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon.
They estimate that the first of Zil-Hajj will fall on May 29, 2025 and Eid-ul-Azha will be observed on Saturday, June 7th.
SUPARCO’s forecast is based on precise astronomical data. According to their calculations the new moon for Zil Hajj will occur on May 27th at 8:02 AM.
At that point the moons age will be approximately 11 hours and 34 minutes. The SUPARCO assessed that the chances of the moon being visible across the country on the evening of May 27th are almost non-existent.
This scientific projection provides a helpful guide for communities across Pakistan. While the final announcement comes from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
SUPARCO’s consistent astronomical data gives an early and strong indication for marking the highly anticipated festival on June 7th.
