Lahore Qalandars eliminate Karachi Kings from PSL X
Lahore Qalandars beat Karachi Kings by six wickets in the PSL X Eliminator 1 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
Chasing a decent 191-run target for victory, Qalandars crossed the finish line in the penultimate over with six wickets to spare.
Abdullah Shafique was the top scorer for Qalandars with 65 runs, followed by Fakhar Zaman, who made 47. Kusal Perera contributed 30 runs, Bhanuka Rajapaksa 23 and Mohammad Naeem 14.
Hasan Ali bagged two wickets while Mir Hamza and Fawad Ali got one wicket each. Abdullah Shafique was named player of the match.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, skipper David Warner (75) and Tim Seifert (16) provided a solid start with 43 runs opening partnership.
After losing wickets at regular intervals, Khushdil Shah (27 not out) ensured a strong finish to take the team score to 190/8 in the allocated 20 overs. Irfan Niazi contributed 18, Mohammad Nabi 16 and Saad Baig 11 runs. Haris Rauf bagged three wicket and skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi two, while Zaman Khan, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Naeem took one wicket each.
