JAKARTA — Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance has appointed several new high-ranking officials, including a controversial former lieutenant general to lead its Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
Djaka Budhi Utama, whose early retirement from the milit was finalized last week, will replace longtime bureaucrat Askolani, who has been reassigned to the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance. The reshuffle includes the appointment of 20 other senior officials.
