TOKYO — NTT Docomo is set to acquire SBI Sumishin Net Bank, with plans to launch a tender offer aimed at purchasing two-thirds of the bank’s shares, Nikkei has learned.
The purchase means that all major telecommunications companies in Japan will have their own financial institutions, signaling increasing competition in the financial services sector.
