Amid fluctuations in global oil prices, a slight adjustment in petroleum product rates is expected in Pakistan starting June 1.
According to sources, the price of petrol may decrease by 61 paisa per liter, while high-speed diesel is likely to see a reduction of 28 paisa per liter for the first half of June. On the other hand, kerosene may become costlier by 31 paisa per liter, and light diesel is expected to increase by Rs 1.30 per liter.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will send its price summ to the government on May 31. The final decision will be made in consultation with the Prime Minister, based on OGRA’s recommendations.
The Ministry of Finance will issue the official notification after receiving the Prime Minister’s approval. The government also reserves the right to adjust the level of relief on petroleum prices, either increasing or reducing it as needed.
