Earthquake of 3.6 magnitude jolts parts of Karachi

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake was felt in several parts of the port city on Sunday evening.

al Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the epicenter of the earthquake was at the depth of 10 kilometers near Quaidabad.

An earthquake hit the port city at 5:33pm, according to the seismic monitoring centre. There were no reports of damage or injuries, but the tremors caused panic among residents.

The previous earthquake in Karachi occurred on March 31, 2025, when a 4.7-magnitude quake was felt in the city and nearby areas. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said it struck at 4:11pm, with its epicentre located 75 kilometres north of Karachi at a depth of 19 kilometres.

The United States logical Survey reported the magnitude as 4.6, with the epicentre 65 kilometres east-southeast of Uthal in Balochistan, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
