SEOUL — Exit polls by South Korean broadcasters forecast Lee Jae-myung of the opposition Democratic Party to triumph in the snap presidential election on Tuesday, which would mean a change of power to the liberal party following a monthslong political crisis.
Lee Jae-myung garnered 51.7% of votes, the exit polls estimated, followed by conservative People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo with 39.3% and Lee Jun-seok of the minor New Reform Party with 7.7%.
