MUMBAI — India has more than 4,300 active coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, as subvariants of the relatively less-fatal Omicron variant continue to spread, mirroring a wider revival of the disease in parts of Asia.
The southern Indian state of Kerala has been worst hit, with 1,373 active cases as of Wednesday, according to the government’s COVID-19 tracking website. Maharashtra, home to the country’s financial center, Mumbai, followed with 510 active cases.
