Karachi: A young man who was allegedly tortured by influential individuals in Karachi’s Defence area has pardoned the accused during court proceedings.

The case was heard in Additional District and Session court, where the victim, Sudheer, appeared and told the judge that the incident was his fault, as his motorcycle had collided with a car. “I have no objections. I forgive the accused and do not wish to pursue the case,” he said.

Despite the victim’s statement, the state prosecutor opposed the bail applications filed by the suspects, arguing that the FIR includes non-bailable sections such as issuing threats and humiliating a woman.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict on the bail pleas, which will be announced at a later date.

Earleir, The Karachi police obtained a two-day physical remand of Salman Farooqi and his co-accused in the DHA torture case.

During the hearing, the police presented Salman Farooqi and the co-accused before the Judicial Magistrate South and requested their physical remand for further investigation.

Granting the request, the court approved a two-day remand, directing the police to complete the investigation and produce the suspects at the next hearing.
