KOHAT: Former Senator Abbas Afridi has tragically passed away after succumbing to injuries from a gas leak explosion. Afridi, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was severely wounded in the incident yesterday at Azam Bagh. He had recently announced his departure from the party in June 2024.
He was immediately taken to Combined Milit Hospital (CMH) Kharian Burn Centre for urgent medical attention following the blast. Despite efforts to save him, he unfortunately passed away today.
His family has confirmed that funeral prayers for Abbas Afridi will be held in Babri Banda, Kohat.
According to police reports, three other individuals injured in the gas leak explosion are currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities are continuing to monitor their condition and investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
