WASHINGTON — For the first time in over three decades, tanks, planes and thousands of soldiers will parade the streets of Washington on Saturday, as U.S. President Donald Trump holds a grand milit parade to celebrate the 250th annivers of the U.S. Army.
The event will pay tribute to America’s victories in past wars, but the choice of date — Trump’s 79th birthday — and cost have raised eyebrows, as has the concern that the heavy equipment may damage the roads of the nation’s capital.
