Web Desk: Apple prepares an exciting release for its users upcoming iPhone 17 “Air,” a sleek, slimmer version of the company’s flagship device designed to replace the iPhone Plus lineup.
According to the reports from Bloomberg, the iPhone Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch display—slightly smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max, yet larger than the standard models.
The device is rumored to measure just 5.5mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest iPhones to date. Priced around $900 (approximately 255,195 PKR), the iPhone 17 Air aims to position itself competitively within Apple’s lineup, although potential tariffs could influence the final retail price.
Hardware trade-offs are anticipated to achieve its thin profile. Notably, the iPhone Air may sport only a single rear camera lens, potentially omitting the ultrawide and telephoto lenses found on higher-end models—similar to the camera setup on the $600 iPhone 16E. However, the front-facing selfie camera is expected to see improvements, potentially enhancing user selfies.
Battery life remains a challenge for ultra-slim devices, but reports suggest that Apple may incorporate a silicon-anode battery to help extend capacity despite the reduced physical space.
The device will also feature ultra-slim bezels, a dedicated Camera Control button, and the innovative Dynamic Island interface.
Performance-wise, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be powered by the new A19 chip, offering faster processing compared to the A18 chip in current models. Additionally, it could include Apple’s new C1 5G modem, first seen in the iPhone 16E, promising enhanced connectivity.
Apple has not announced any official release date for the iPhone 17 series yet.
