PM Shehbaz urges all sectors to work together for Economic growth
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday praised the economic team and coalition partners for their dedication and support in passing the 2025-26 annual budget in parliament. He urged them to demonstrate the same unity and effort to advance the country’s economic development.
Addressing members of the Senate and National Assembly after the approval of the 2025-26 budget, the prime minister urged everyone to work together day and night for Pakistan’s economic progress. He expressed his firm belief that their exempl unity would lead to the country’s economic uplift.
PM Shehbaz praised the economic team for working tirelessly to prepare a people-friendly budget and thanked the allied parties for their valuable consultations that helped shape the budget according to public aspirations.
Discussing the regional situation, he said that Allah Almighty had granted Pakistan a splendid victory in response to India’s recent unprovoked aggression. He noted that the Pakistan armed forces, along with the entire political leadership, the public, civil society, and the media, stood united to thwart the enemy’s evil designs. He added that this victory had elevated Pakistan’s stature among the comity of nations.
PM Shehbaz informed the parliamentarians that the diplomatic delegation, led by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, effectively highlighted Pakistan’s stance and exposed India’s malicious intentions on the global stage.
The prime minister stated that the international community warmly received the multi-party delegation, while overseas Pakistanis enthusiastically welcomed them and paid heartfelt tributes to the government and Pakistan armed forces for their diplomatic and milit success. Speaking about Israel’s recent aggression against Iran, PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan expressed its solidarity with the Iranian government and people at every level.
“I was in constant contact with the Iranian leadership, particularly President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during the conflict. The resolution of the Israel-Iran conflict will open avenues for peace and prosperity in the region,” PM Shehbaz remarked.
Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, the prime minister said Pakistan stood with Iran at all levels during Israel’s aggression. He added that he remained in contact with the Iranian leadership, particularly President Masoud Pezeshkian, and stressed that resolving the Israel-Iran conflict would pave the way for peace and prosperity in the region. Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, members of the federal cabinet, and legislators from both the Senate and National Assembly attended the meeting.
