PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the tragic flood incident in Swat, while suspending four senior officials over alleged negligence and poor performance.

Grade-21 officer Khayam Hassan Khan has been appointed as the chairman of the committee, while Grade-19 officer Muhammad Usman and Grade-18 officer Shehryar Qamar will serve as members.

The committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The committee will identify the negligence of government personnel or institutions, while the committee will also identify the negligence of those who are negligent in duty.

At the same time, there will be recommendations for security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

On the other hand, the KP government put the debris of negligence and disqualification on the officers and four senior officers were suspended on poor performance in the Swat River.

The provincial government suspended the district in -charge of Assistant Commissioner Babuzai, Assistant Commissioner Khwazakhela, ADC Relief and Rescue 1122 and issued an inquiry into the incident.
