Pakistan, India swap lists of nuclear installations, facilities

On Wednesday, Pakistan and India exchanged lists of their respective nuclear installations and facilities as part of their annual commitment under the Agreement on Prohibition of Attacks against Nuclear Installations and Facilities, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

The agreement, signed on December 31, 1988, requires both nations to share details of their nuclear sites on Janu 1 each year.

This year, Pakistan’s list was handed over to an Indian High Commission representative in Islamabad, while India’s list was delivered to a Pakistan High Commission representative in New Delhi by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

The agreement, which came into effect on Janu 27, 1991, has facilitated this exchange of information consistently since Janu 1, 1992, the statement noted.
