TOKYO — Japan welcomed a record 36.87 million tourists in 2024, up 47.1% from the previous year thanks to the weak yen, according to data released Wednesday by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
The figure rose against the backdrop of recovering flights and compares with 25.07 million in 2023.
