A significant electricity theft case has surfaced in Lahore’s Airline Sub-Division, involving singer Jawad Ahmed and his wife. According to officials from the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), the alleged theft occurred at a beauty parlour owned by Ahmed’s wife.
During a raid conducted by LESCO, it was discovered that one phase of the parlour’s electricity meter was non-functional, suggesting tampering. As the operation unfolded, Jawad Ahmed reportedly arrived at the location in his vehicle. According to LESCO officials, Ahmed confronted the staff and allegedly attacked meter readers Asghar and Shahid.
In their formal complaint, LESCO alleged that Ahmed not only physically assaulted their employees but also forcibly removed the electricity meter and fled the scene in his car.
The incident has been reported to the Nawab Town police station in Lahore, where LESCO has accused the singer of electricity theft and violence against their staff. Ahmed Faraz, an executive engineer from LESCO’s Johar Town division, visited the scene to review the matter further.
LESCO has escalated the issue, sending a detailed report on the tampered meter to higher authorities for further investigation. The case has sparked significant attention, raising concerns about accountability and energy theft in the region.
