Huawei to Unveil Smallest Vertical Foldable Smartphone in 2025
Huawei is set to introduce the smallest vertical foldable smartphone in 2025, with work already underway on its next generation of folding devices. Reports suggest the company is developing a compact model featuring an innovative design and high-end hardware.
Reliable tipster DigitalChatStation indicates that the device may feature a 6.3-inch display, making it the smallest foldable of 2025. Additionally, Honor may also step into the compact foldable market with a new model in its upcoming flagship Magic 8 lineup.
Huawei’s anticipated clamshell foldable, likely the Pocket 3, is expected to be the most compact flip-phone model for 2025. Earlier tips hinted that the Pocket 3 could launch as early as Febru or March, though Huawei has yet to officially confirm these details.
Both Huawei and Honor have ambitious plans for 2025. Huawei is working on “unimaginable” products, while Honor focuses on significant smartphone upgrades.
Huawei Pocket 2
The Huawei Pocket 2, another foldable in the company’s lineup, features a 6.94-inch main screen and a 1.15-inch LTPO OLED cover screen. The device supports a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 2200 nits, and a broad color range. Powered by the Kirin 9000s chipset, it is upgradable to HarmonyOS NEXT.
The Pocket 2 includes a quad-camera setup with a 50MP main lens, 12MP ultrawide, 8MP telephoto, and a 2MP multi-spectral sensor. The 10.7MP front camera offers versatile shooting modes. A 4520mAh battery supports 66W wired, 40W wireless, and reverse charging.
Huawei’s upcoming compact foldables aim to further innovate the market while catering to users seeking advanced functionality in smaller devices.
