Funeral prayers for COAS Asim Munir’s mother held in Rawalpindi
The funeral prayers for the late mother of Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir were held at the Racecourse Ground in Rawalpindi.
The ceremony saw a significant presence of political and milit leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, members of the Cabinet, former milit chiefs, and other notable figures.
Gen Asim Munir himself led the funeral prayers, which were attended by Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, as well as the Chief Ministers of Sindh and Balochistan.
The atmosphere at the Racecourse Ground was solemn as people from various walks of life gathered to offer their condolences.
Former army chiefs also participated in the prayers, paying tribute to the late mother of Gen Asim Munir. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Federal Minister Aleem Khan were among the prominent figures who expressed their heartfelt condolences following her passing.
