OSAKA — The operator of Universal Studios Japan will support staff on working holidays who want to change their residency status to be able to work long term, aiming to secure the foreign-language skills needed to serve increasingly international guests.
When employees on working holidays reach the end of their one-year visa period, the Osaka theme park will consider hiring those who want to stay on as full-time staff. The company will also cover the fees required to switch visas — about 200,000 yen ($1,300).
