BEIJING — China has nominated Zou Jiayi, a former vice finance minister, as a candidate for the next president of the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Finance Ministry said on Monday.

The AIIB is expected to elect its next president at an annual meeting in Beijing in June. Zou, who hails from Jiangsu province, was in charge of international affairs at the Finance Ministry. She has worked for many years at international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
