KUALA LUMPUR — ASEAN must abandon grand ambitions in favor of practical, business-driven reforms to stay competitive amid rising global uncertainty, according to Nazir Razak, the head of the bloc’s business advisory council.
The 10 member states should, meanwhile, regard the “Trumpian” crisis triggered by the U.S. president imposing tariffs on every nation as an “opportunity to demonstrate and further cement the unity and resilience of ASEAN,” the Malaysian businessman said.
