PMD predicts heatwave in Karachi
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and humid during the next 24 hours in Karachi as city in the grip of a heatwave.
The maximum temperature in the city is likely to reach 39 to 41 degrees today, while the weather is predicted to remain warm and humid over the next 24 hours.
Experts directed the citizens of Karachi to be careful in view of the heatwave, saying that citizens should not leave their homes unnecessarily from 11am to 4pm.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Hyderabad is expected to reach 41 degrees, Nawabshah(Shaheed Benazirabad) 42, Sukkur 40, Multan 39, Lahore 38, 33 in Peshawar and Quetta 24 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, some places in Kashmir, Gilgit -Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to receive heavy rains and thunderstorms.
