TOKYO — Shenghe Resources Holding, a major Chinese rare-earth refiner and importer, said that its U.S. affiliate MP Materials has stopped shipping the metals to China amid the trade war between the two countries.
Shenghe, backed by China’s Ministry of Finance, admitted in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Sunday evening that MP had “temporarily stopped” exporting rare-earth ore concentrates due to the “additional imposition of tariffs recently.”
