Mentally challenged youth climbs electric pole, rescued
LAHORE: A mentally ill youngster who had climbed a high tension wire electric pole was rescued alive by Rescue team.
The incident reported Pir Makki shrine. According to eyewitnesses the young man suddenly climbed the high-voltage pole and as soon as he touched the wires there was a loud spark which caused power breakdown in the area. Surprisingly, he remained unhurt.
Police quickly informed rescue services who arrived on the spot and carefully brought the man down.
Superintendent of Police (SP) City Bilal Ahmed said the timely response by the rescue team ensured the boy’s safety.
Due to his mental condition he couldn’t tell his name or address. The rescue team took him to the hospital for treatment but he later ran away from there as well.
