NEW DELHI — India and Pakistan on Saturday agreed to an “immediate ceasefire,” U.S. President Donald Trump announced, after days of exchange of fire as well as missile and drone attacks between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors in the aftermath of a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir that left 26 people dead.
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
