SINGAPORE — Hyatt Hotels is expanding its footprint in Asia, with a pipeline of more than 200 hotels scheduled to open over the next five to eight years, President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian told Nikkei Asia, as the hospitality group anticipates growing demand from the region’s young, affluent travelers.
In a recent interview in Singapore, Hoplamazian said the expansion would bring the American hotel group’s total portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region to over 500 hotels, up 67% from more than 300 hotels at present, including brands such as Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt and Andaz.
