Israel’s humanitarian blockade of Gaza continues, leading to several countries considering or imposing sanctions.
According to a foreign news agency, Britain has suspended negotiations on a free trade agreement with Israel. The European Union has also decided to review its free trade agreement with Israel.
British Foreign Secret David Lammy has described the 11-week aid blockade as cruel and called for its immediate lifting. He also reiterated his support for a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.
Meanwhile, Canada and France are also threatening Israel with sanctions. Britain has already imposed sanctions on seven Israeli settlers and organizations involved in violence against Palestinians and has summoned the Israeli ambassador.
The United Nations has expressed fears that 14,000 Palestinian children could die if aid does not arrive. Hundreds of UN aid trucks are currently waiting at the Gaza border, unable to enter.
Furthermore, the Israeli army is continuing its bombardment of Gaza, resulting in the deaths of more than 80 Palestinians.
It should be noted that the United Nations has warned that the food shortage in the occupied Palestinian territory of Gaza has intensified, and that 14,000 children could die if aid does not arrive in the next 48 hours
