TOKYO — Japanese automakers increased production for the third month in a row in April, according to industry data compiled Thursday, with the Trump administration’s tariffs yet to significantly impact exports to the U.S.
Global production volume among eight manufacturers grew 1% in April from a year earlier to 1,908,886 units. Production in Japan climbed 4% to 635,619 units, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth.
