ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt felicitations to the entire Pakistani nation and the Muslim world on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

He said Eid-ul-Azha is a day to revive our faith, sacrifice, selflessness and spirit of brotherhood as it reminds us of the unparalleled obedience, sacrifice, submission and contentment of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

He said that the day reminded us that we should not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the sake of Allah, adding, “Our individual and collective success lies in obedience to Allah Almighty.

The president underscored that everyone needed to learn from the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and implement it in their lives.

He urged that at present it was imperative to become a support for the weak and deprived sections of society. “We should pledge that we will do everything possible to help everyone around us. We will always take care of the needy, sick, and poor,” the president said.

President Zardari called the nation to promote sacrifice, love, brotherhood and unity in their attitudes and as a nation, there was need to support each other, share each other’s pain and sorrow and make Pakistan a great and prosperous country.

The entire Pakistani nation has to reiterate the resolve that as a nation, it would cleanse its hearts of hatred and prejudice, he said. “May Allah Almighty accept our sacrifices in His court, grant peace, progress and prosperity to Pakistan,” the president prayed.

Prime Minister  Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and the broader Islamic world, calling for prayers and solidarity with those enduring oppression in Palestine and Kashmir.

In his message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 1446 Hijri, the Prime Minister said, “I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani nation and the Muslim Ummah on this sacred occasion and the profound Islamic tradition of Hajj.”

He reflected on the significance of the occasion, stating that these blessed days commemorate the unwavering faith, sacrifice, and devotion of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). He noted that Allah Almighty valued their devotion so deeply that their acts were elevated to the status of worship.

The Prime Minister prayed for the acceptance of prayers and sacrifices offered by the people of Pakistan and the entire Muslim world.

“These blessed occasions should come in our lives again and again. Amen,” he remarked.Drones

He said, “The message of Eid-ul-Azha is not only limited to the sacrifice of the animal but it also gave a lesson of sacrifice of self, our wishes and interests for the sake of higher objectives.”

“This spirit of sacrifice inculcates the qualities of patience, courage, sacrifice and altruism in the humans, which can be a foundation for the progress of a nation,” he observed.

He said, “Today our beloved country Pakistan is on the path of progress and at this moment we have to embrace the spirit of solidarity and sacrifice.”

The prime minister said the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Azha reminded everyone that the path of sacrifice led to success.
