TOKYO — Japanese financial group SBI Holdings is considering participation in a Japan-based data center business being developed by Vietnamese tech giant FPT, eyeing a stake of up to 35% as demand tied to artificial intelligence continues to rise.
SBI agreed on Monday to consider investing in FPT Smart Cloud Japan by the end of Janu. The new company, using servers equipped with U.S. chipmaker Nvidia’s graphics processing units, intends to provide cloud services to Japanese businesses and other customers starting in Febru.
