Web Desk: Karachi may experience scattered drizzle or rain this morning and tonight. The Meteorological Department predicts humid and cloudy conditions will persist throughout the next 24 hours, impacting the city’s weather landscape.
Meanwhile, monsoon winds are entering in eastern regions of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, and Fist, bringing rainfall to these areas under the prevailing weather system.
The metrological department forecasts that this rainfall is expected to continue till July 5, providing relief to the local environment.
On the other side, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in parts of Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir today. Citizens in these areas are advised to stay alert and take necess precautions.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where heavy rainfall is expected from July 5 to 11. There is also a heightened risk of flooding in the Chitral River, Swat River, Panjkora River, and Kabul River during this period.
Meanwhile, Balochistan is also experiencing a new monsoon spell affecting 20 districts from July 4 to July 8. These districts include Sherani, Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhel, Daki, Loralai, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Naseerabad, Usta Muhammad, Kalat, Lasbela, Sorab, Khuzdar, Awaran, Sohabpur, Jafarabad, Dera Bugti, and Kohlu.
PDMA officials have warned of potential waterlogging in certain areas due to ongoing rains. They also advise tourists to avoid unnecess travel and citizens to stay away from dams and popular picnic spots to prevent any untoward incidents.
Authorities continue to monitor weather developments and are prepared to respond to any emergencies arising from the heavy rains and potential flooding.
