SC to announce verdict against Additional Registrar in contempt case tomorrow
Islamabad: The reserved verdict in the contempt of court case against the Additional Registrar will be announced tomorrow by the Supreme Court.
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court had reserved the decision on Thursday in the contempt case against the Additional Registrar.
The court had also sought arguments regarding the formation of a full court in the case concerning bench powers.
The Additional Registrar has requested the withdrawal of the show-cause notice; however, his intra-court appeal against the notice is also scheduled for hearing before a larger bench tomorrow.
It must be noted that during the intra-court appeal regarding contempt of court, it was revealed that hearing dates in the Supreme Court’s orders had been altered.
In the intra-court appeal, the Additional Registrar referred to the hearing led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, stating that the case related to bench powers was postponed from Janu 13 to Janu 27.
Earlier, Supreme Court’s Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas challenged the contempt of court show-cause notice issued against him.
Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas has also filed for a stay order against ongoing contempt of court proceedings.

The Supreme Court has constituted a six-member, larger bench to hear his intra-court appeal. Headed by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, the bench includes Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed, and Justice Musarrat Hilali.
